Where to get help

Professionals

Welcome to the Isle of Wight Chlamydia Screening programme Professionals' page at www.ruthe1.co.uk.

Thank you for supporting the Islands' screening programme. As you aware Chlamydia is an easily contracted STI, which is usually asymptomatic and if left untreated may lead to serious long term health consequences.

As professionals you can support the screening programme by:

  • Encouraging all young people aged between 15 and 24 years who are sexually active to have undergo a screen. It's quick, easy and FREE.
  • Display posters in your clinical areas, youth clubs, schools etc advertising the programme.
  • Become a pick up point for our NEW postal kits.
  • Invite the Chlamydia screening programme team in to your work area to promote the programme through workshops, training or teaching sessions with professionals and young people.
  • As part of promoting the broader sexual health and well being of our young people become a Condom Distribution centre as part of the islands FREE CDS scheme.

There are no costs attached to any of the above, we are grateful for your support and help promoting sexual health and well-being, safe sex, Chlamydia screening and the condom distribution scheme.
