Confidentiality

All tests are confidential and all personal information remains with the IOW CSP we do not share this with local services such as your GP unless we’ve asked you first for a specific reason for instance if we think you may be a risk of harm.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant and have a positive Chlamydia test it may effect the health of your baby so your result would be written in your hospital notes. This is so that your consultant is aware that you had been seen and treated for the infection.

Under 16s

The same rules of confidentiality apply to you. Please see our Under 16s page for further details.

Data Collection

The Isle of Wight CSP is part of a national programme to reduce Chlamydia infections across the country as a whole. In order to ensure this is done correctly it is important that we collect information such as age, sex, area and numbers of positive and negative results to monitor this via the use of charts and graphs.

WE DO NOT share any personal information such as names and addresses.
